Elsa grew up in North Texas as part of the first generation of her family to be born in the U.S. Although her family had already crossed an ocean, she still had the itch to live somewhere new so she moved to California for college. After graduating from University of California, Irvine with a B.A. in Psychology and Social Behavior, Elsa moved to Chicago to work with nonprofit organizations on the south side. It was her work there that reinforced Elsa’s desire to pursue a career in counseling. She is now here to stay after receiving her Masters degree in counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary.
 
Elsa was exposed to the importance and treatment of mental health from a young age. Many of her family and friends found healing through counseling over the years, which inspired Elsa to be part of that process. Elsa believes counseling is one of the safest spaces to explore life’s difficulties. She has confidence in the power of relationships to influence perspectives on life, and loves empowering clients to work through their struggles.
 
When she isn’t counseling, Elsa is either curled up with a book or exploring any trails around Dallas with her husband and their dog.
